Welcome to Four Oceans Angling Club The name is derived from the two oceans surrounding the South African coastline coupled with the "oceans of the mind and spirit". The club's primary emphasis is that of competitive angling a winning culture and an all encompassing sportsman philosphy.
Our primary objective is summarised as follows: - To promote, improve and further the standard of rock and surf angling in various previously disadvantaged communities
- To promote accessibility to beaches
- To create awareness for the safety of other beach users for example the strollers, bathers and other anglers
- To create an awareness in terms of:
- statutory requirements relevant to the ecology and environment
- preservation of the marine resources
- nature conservation
The Four Oceans motto is not to be driven by numbers, but have a committed membership who thrive and receive the reciprocal benefit relative to the efforts. Competitive angling is about team work and looking, feeling and acting as a unit in imperative to success, hence our need to work towards creating an ethos of collectivity.
As the executive committee, we believe that our strategy offers growth opportunities for each and every current and future club member and is driven by our core competencies of administering the club on a member level. The club is based on democratic principles that is the cornerstone of driving our success where decisions that affect us is based on consultation and buy-in of our general body that will lead us to be one of the premier angling club's in the Western Cape.
We are proud of the fact that we are the first previously disadvantaged club to be affiliated to the WPSAA and wish to make our mark in the forseeable future "TEST THE BOUNDARIES, IT'S NOT NEXT TO YOU"
